The Day We Wed

So, I'm married... What?!! I am officially Julianne Beecher (I have a new driver's license to prove it even). Can I just tell you that my wedding was absolutely perfect? It was. For me.

I hadn't slept in a while, so the day before the wedding I was a little nuts--crying at the drop of a hat. Backing into Austin's truck with our new car didn't help either...oops! Needless to say, I took an ambien that night so I could actually get some rest. Our 9:20 sealing was beautiful, and it was so great to have so many friends and family share the moment with us. Even the gnome kisses on the cheek. Oh man. We came out of the back doors to greet everyone and get pictures. It started raining a little bit which apparently is good luck on a wedding day? Either way, it was a gorgeous day.

Austin's mom Peggy put on an amazing luncheon for us afterward in Hurricane. There was so much great food, and my favorite, all kinds of flavored cheesecakes! Yum! My dad said a few words and made me cry. So did Shauna. It was perfect. Then I played and sang "The Story" for Austin. Made the mistake of glancing at him during the last verse. Busted out in more tears and couldn't finish. Love that boy! My mom and sisters did some singing too. Can't gave a party without some Gifford singing! The luncheon was so much fun.

Our reception was phenom. It was everything I had imagined and more. Family and friends helped transform a regular cultural hall into my vintage wedding. A HUGE shout out to my sis-in-law Jill who worked her tail off the entire day before my wedding and used her brilliant ideas to set up little vignettey (I really want that to be a word) areas. My sisters came from Colorado bringing some more decorations and helped create a lit faux ceiling with tool (and with Chien-Po's master light stringing skills). Aaron set up a sweet sound system, and Janna had been working on creating the perfect playlist for days with songs that sounded like they were coming from an old record player. Obviously my mom put in countless hours of work helping with all the details, food, flowers, etc. We had a cute backdrop with pallets and wild flowers on both sides with wooden ladders and a clothesline strung between holding up lace fabric. Sounds weird, but it really was adorable. I made a sign saying Mr & Mrs Beecher to hang across too. Janna and I had been collecting books and decorations from DI for months. My family is amazing. I had awesome friends show up the night before to help put one million pictures in frames too. Not to mention my gnomies baking all my cakes for the cake table! I should just let the pictures do the talking...

We had so many people show up to our reception. It was SUCH a fun party. After our reception line, we busted out the moves with a flash mob dance, had our first dance as a Mr. and Mrs., danced with my dad, and cut one of our cakes. Some more dancing and mingling with our guests and then we were OUT. Right at 8pm on the dot. Everyone went outside with sparklers and made a tunnel for us to run through. Ahhh, it was such a great night. Austin and I really loved everything about our entire day. We still reminisce about how awesome our reception was. We hope everyone else had as good of a time.

Anywho, I'm one happy married lady. And I wish we were still in Cancun! (Post and pics to come)

  2. Seriously! Your reception was one of my favorite receptions ever. The decorations were perfect. Just the right balance to completely offset that cheesy cultural hall feel! If I ever do get the chance, I will have to work overtime to pull off something even half as amazing as that night(and day) was! So happy for you and Austin Juje!
