Life as a Mrs.

These are all pretty much old instagrams, but I refuse to give up blogging, so it may be a little repetitive. Just a few pictures of our real life since marriage.

My cute husband put up our curtains in our bedroom. I love that I married a handy man. It was always a dream of mine. Seriously though, this guy can do anything. Here's a fun example. We needed a TV stand. But a free one... Well, I've had these shelves for a while, and Austin decided to flip one on its side and make our own. He added shelves going the other way so we could hide the xbox and playstation and other random gunk. Sweet deal.

Don't worry, that's just all 8 Harry Potter DVDs sitting on top. We made it through all 8 in one week. We are that cool.

Oh you know, just a regular Sunday night at the parents. Told Austin to make my hair pretty and he delivered. Unicorn for life.

Scored an "Our Best Bites" cookbook from marriage. Best pizza I've ever made. Mmmmmm.

Yearly tradition of gathering snow from Kolob to bring back in truckloads to build a giant snowman. This year's snow was weird... it wouldn't stick together. So the snow remained a pile on my parents front yard. In fact, it's probably still there. Slowly melting.

First stocking I have ever crocheted. For Austin. I didn't quite finish mine in time. But it will be the same, but red and white.

Spent Christmas break sleeping in and watching The Hobbit of course. Love that boy.

And I'm his favorite pillow. He really can sleep anywhere.... makes it hard to move.

Gettin' our carb on at The Bear Paw. Only the best breakfast joint in town. In Utah. In America. In the world... the UNIVERSE! About a boy, anyone??

Partied at home New Year's Eve. Wow, this post makes it look like we really eat like crap.... We do eat healthy sometimes too!

A picture to prove it! These skinny asian lettuce wraps are YUM! And only 5 WW points for two! Did I mention I got a second job at Weight Watchers? Yup, call me obsessed. I will never leave. Now I get paid to stay skinny. It's awesome.

And just one more food pic. Mock Noodles 'n Company Penne Rosa. Skinny style.

Back to school as Mrs. Beecher!

Enjoying a Saturday hike with my man.

And now my man just walked in the door, so I shall finish this and go kiss him on the mouth!

Cancun

Austin and I went to Cancun for our honeymoon. After a long flight to North Carolina (weird, no?), a long layover, and another flight... we made it to our destination! We jumped on a shuttle and were whisked away to our hotel. An all-inclusive resort? Yes, please! We loved it. We were right on the beach with access to the crystal-blue ocean. Our hotel was all-you-can-eat & drink all the time. There was a buffet-style restaurant open all the time, plus a cafe with the most amazing lime pie ice cream in the world! There was also a seafood restaurant open most of the day and then two really fancy restaurants open in the evening in addition to everything else that required reservations. One was Italian, and the other Oriental. They were both amazing. We're talking full on starters, appetizers, soups, entrees, and dessert. AND palette-cleansers in between. Loved it. Our first day there we just crashed and played at the beach and reveled in all the food available. Day 2 was a day at the resort... laying on the beach, playing ping-pong, sitting in the jacuzzi, and of course, more food. Day 3 we decided to do an excursion. We went to some ancient Mayan ruins at Telum and then went to a natural water park (Xel-Ha). It was also all-inclusive. This place was amazing. It was basically in inlet from the sea, or a natural aquarium park on the Riviera Maya. You could snorkel, float on tubes, cliff jump, rope climb, zip line, ride bikes through the jungle, or just hang on hammocks. We loved this place. We explored the entire park (which is huge) and tried to do every activity. Our favorite was snorkeling. The water is crystal clear, and the fish were out of control. I loved/hated it (fish sometimes freak me out... especially when they are close to my face). We didn't take any pictures (we should have gotten one of those cheap under-water disposable cameras), so I stole some from the website so you can just see how cool it was.

Yeah, no, that't not me. Or Austin for that matter. Anywho, it was a great day. And exhausting. Day 4 we walked into the city and shopped around the markets. I got a fun little swim dress, and we decided to buy lunch in town. We also went to every food store/mini market we could find so that Austin could look for his favorite snacks he missed from Mexico. We were pretty successful and ate so much crap.

Day 5 we laid on the beach once more, ate our final lemon pie ice cream, and were off on the shuttle again to catch our flight home. Sad day. It was such a relaxing vacation to be away from all the stresses of real life. No phones, no internet, nothing. Bliss. Made it back home the day after Thanksgiving so we still had a few days left off work. Luckily there were some leftovers for us too. Here's some pictures... and hopefully a video of our iguana friend we met (apparently it's not gonna happen).

And there you have it.

The Day We Wed

So, I'm married... What?!! I am officially Julianne Beecher (I have a new driver's license to prove it even). Can I just tell you that my wedding was absolutely perfect? It was. For me.

I hadn't slept in a while, so the day before the wedding I was a little nuts--crying at the drop of a hat. Backing into Austin's truck with our new car didn't help either...oops! Needless to say, I took an ambien that night so I could actually get some rest. Our 9:20 sealing was beautiful, and it was so great to have so many friends and family share the moment with us. Even the gnome kisses on the cheek. Oh man. We came out of the back doors to greet everyone and get pictures. It started raining a little bit which apparently is good luck on a wedding day? Either way, it was a gorgeous day.

Austin's mom Peggy put on an amazing luncheon for us afterward in Hurricane. There was so much great food, and my favorite, all kinds of flavored cheesecakes! Yum! My dad said a few words and made me cry. So did Shauna. It was perfect. Then I played and sang "The Story" for Austin. Made the mistake of glancing at him during the last verse. Busted out in more tears and couldn't finish. Love that boy! My mom and sisters did some singing too. Can't gave a party without some Gifford singing! The luncheon was so much fun.

Our reception was phenom. It was everything I had imagined and more. Family and friends helped transform a regular cultural hall into my vintage wedding. A HUGE shout out to my sis-in-law Jill who worked her tail off the entire day before my wedding and used her brilliant ideas to set up little vignettey (I really want that to be a word) areas. My sisters came from Colorado bringing some more decorations and helped create a lit faux ceiling with tool (and with Chien-Po's master light stringing skills). Aaron set up a sweet sound system, and Janna had been working on creating the perfect playlist for days with songs that sounded like they were coming from an old record player. Obviously my mom put in countless hours of work helping with all the details, food, flowers, etc. We had a cute backdrop with pallets and wild flowers on both sides with wooden ladders and a clothesline strung between holding up lace fabric. Sounds weird, but it really was adorable. I made a sign saying Mr & Mrs Beecher to hang across too. Janna and I had been collecting books and decorations from DI for months. My family is amazing. I had awesome friends show up the night before to help put one million pictures in frames too. Not to mention my gnomies baking all my cakes for the cake table! I should just let the pictures do the talking...

We had so many people show up to our reception. It was SUCH a fun party. After our reception line, we busted out the moves with a flash mob dance, had our first dance as a Mr. and Mrs., danced with my dad, and cut one of our cakes. Some more dancing and mingling with our guests and then we were OUT. Right at 8pm on the dot. Everyone went outside with sparklers and made a tunnel for us to run through. Ahhh, it was such a great night. Austin and I really loved everything about our entire day. We still reminisce about how awesome our reception was. We hope everyone else had as good of a time.

Anywho, I'm one happy married lady. And I wish we were still in Cancun! (Post and pics to come)
